Plain Jane: “…but for my own part, if a book is well written, I always find it too short.”
-Jane Austen in her Juvenilia
I’m looking forward to beginning Fitzgerald’s Tender is the Night over the Christmas week. I have a fond place for him, however disillusioned he was. I always wonder what Jane would have thought of him, probably too moony and indecisive I would imagine. I’m sure she also could have given him some advice on his arguably rather bad decision over making Zelda his wife. But of course, then Fitzgerald wouldn’t be Fitzgerald.
